Know Your Triggers
An asthma "attack" or flare-up usually happens when something bothers your lungs. Common triggers include:
Cold air or sudden weather changes
Smoke, dust, and air pollution
Pet fur or pollen from trees and flowers
Your Two Types of Inhalers
Managing asthma usually requires two different types of spray medicine:
The Daily Controller: You take this every day to prevent swelling, even when you feel completely fine.
The Rescue Inhaler: You carry this with you at all times. You use it only when you suddenly cough, wheeze, or struggle to breathe to open your airways quickly.
