HOMA BAY, KENYA — 20 July 2025 — St. Paul’s Mission Hospital (SPMH) has officially broken ground on a new Surgical and Maternity Wing to expand healthcare capacity in Homa Bay.
The Level 4 Catholic mission hospital initiated the project with a morning Mass led by Father Romanus and Father Abraham, followed by an official site blessing. His Lordship Bishop Michael Odiwa, head of the Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay, served as the guest of honour and personally operated the excavator to break the first ground.
In his address, Bishop Odiwa emphasized that robust infrastructure serves as the backbone of confident medical service delivery. He praised the hospital staff for their daily commitment to compassionate patient care.
